Schools stretch to teaching yoga
by ANUSHKA ASTHANA for the Observer

Dean said hundreds of schools would be pairing up with health clubs, which would offer pupils sessions like those they provide for gym members. She said yoga and pilates were popular because of the celebrity hook. 'Celebrities have shown that they can build strength and flexibility through these classes and children are latching on to that.'

I think that is a good idea, actually in Portugal we already have the possibility of present ourselves as dance teachers, but in this case we use dance as a way of developping children capacities, like in creative dance.
We can develop the same capacities with hip hop.

And if you can help kids getting trim even better.

Hello, DancePortugal, and welcome to Critical Dance! I'm happy you found us. In the U.S., often only public schools with the focus on the performing arts offer any sort of dance classes. My ballet students have even had a hard time requesting not to do certain activities during Physical Education at school which might not be good for them as dancers (like certain field and track activities, etc.).
