I'm new to this list and saw on a previous thread (in fact, it's how I found this site) that Tamara Statkoun is going to be heading a school in Santa Rosa in the old Ballet California studios. I can't find any information on the name, what is offered, etc. Anyone have any information? Thanks!

Hello and welcome, xcirquemom! The studio you are speaking of is Santa Rosa Dance Theater and it is located in Ballet California's old location, 569 Summerfield Road in Santa Rosa. The founder is Adele Mitchell, the AD is former Leningrad State Ballet Theatre principal dancer Viktor Kabaniev, and his co-artistic director is Tamara Statkoun, former principal dancer with the Maly Ballet Theatre and the Kirov. I am also on the faculty teaching the intermediate and advanced levels technique and pointe. The school offers pre-professional training in ballet including technique, pointe, and repertory as well as Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Character, and Flamenco. We just had our first Holiday performance ("The Spirit of the Season", excerpts from the Nutcracker) on December 18th in Jackson Theater at Sonoma Country Day School. There will be a Spring performance in 2006.
