hi there. I am about to embark on something crazy. I have been given the opportunity to take over the running of a small dance studio. (and yes I am a mature aged student learning to become a teacher at the tender age of ? so there is hope after all). My question to you all out there in cyberland - what items would you consider to be essential into the maintenance of records for a dance class? Things that I have considered so far would include:
A lesson plan book
Diary/journal
filing system where I could keep examination results progress reports, test results and student portfolios
Attendance Book (for roll call)
A book to record attitudes of individual students and ability records (essential as part of the course I teach to do this each and every lesson anyway)
Evaluation folder: physical therapy results, pointe evaluations etc.
Conversation log book for recording telephone/personal conversation with for example students/parents/medico's etc.
Correspondence file
Newsletter file
Enrollment information - including relevant medical information
Second Hand Book for preloved items
Video/video equipment as a teach tool and record of progress
Receipt books
Please feel free to add to this list. Aaaaah the challenges of life. he he he
