The performers and the technicians/manipulators are excellent. But the material is over-extended, as if the creators feel the need to reinforce their message when it has begun to pall. ... The performance relies rather too much on gentle punctuation, but lacks dynamic variety and energy.

Being French, Genty says these kinds of things with the same worldly assurance he might use to discuss cars or house prices...

A legend of French physical theatre since the 1960s, Genty declares a complete lack of interest in realism and says that, for him, puppets and illusion are “the way to suck an audience into its own subconscious”.

Genty's may go for saccharine mannerisms, but his performers' technique is extraordinary.
