Hoping the show has (hot) legs
From the Baltimore Sun web site:
"Tonight's the Night," a new musical featuring nearly two dozen Rod Stewart hits, will open this fall on London's West End.The 57-year-old rocker was on hand at a London news conference Tuesday, clapping along as Tim Howard, Diane Pilkington, Hannah Waddingham and Mike KcKell, the stars of the musical, ran through "Tonight's the Night," "Sailing" and "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy." These songs and others from the Stewart catalog are interspersed in a Faustian story about an infatuated nerd who sells his soul to become more like his smooth-talking, priapic hero, Rod Stewart.

'Tonight's the Night' a Step Backward

The Associated Press

LONDON - The pop musical "back catalog" genre takes a sizable step backward with "Tonight's the Night," the new West End musical that plunders Rod Stewart (news)'s output to wearying effect.

"Tonight's the Night," which opened Friday at the Victoria Palace, doesn't have the production values of "We Will Rock You," which keeps time to the music of Queen. And it certainly possesses nothing like the innocence of the ABBA songfest, "Mamma Mia!"
