Q. What about the haunting violin strains at the beginning of the film?
A. I got Isaac Stern to play those notes. Nobody thought I could, but he was so excited to do it. Those first 16 bars in a darkened theater, when you're watching it in 70mm, there's no experience like it. I remember he was so excited to do it because the film's heritage was part of his heritage. So it was very moving on so many levels.
