Well, the number they did on the Tony awards indicates that they do.

Azlan: If it's the same one that I saw in Toronto, then YES, they do the full monty, but thanks to skilful lighting, the cast gets to preserve their modesty.

<B>Hats Off to 'Monty'</B> <BR>Musical Version Hits the Right Note <BR>By Nelson Pressley for The Washington Post <P><BR>"The Full Monty" is a musical about men who don't usually go to musicals: rough guys in work boots and untucked flannel shirts, blue-collar stiffs who may not know from Richard Rodgers but can wail along with Bob Seger all night.<P>And it's for these guys: It's plain-spoken, heartfelt and full of self-deprecating humor. Fellas, "The Full Monty" is your show.<P>Of course, it's the ladies in the audience who whoop it up a bit. This is the adaptation of the popular British film about unemployed steelworkers in northern England who cook up their own Chippendales-style strip act to raise some money, not to mention their morale. (The rub: They're not sexy.) Terrence McNally has Americanized the story -- it's now set in Buffalo, allowing for jokes about Buffalo wings and Buffalo wieners -- and the songs by Broadway first-timer David Yazbek are full of robust pop-rock hooks and bright, funny lyrics. It's a solid musical comedy.<P><A HREF="http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A52807-2002Jul10.html" TARGET=_blank><B>click for more</B></A><BR>

Interesting where Sono Motoyama takes this story:

Quote:
We're in the 'Monty' -- Ready to strip the light fantastic in Philly

Sono Motoyama, Philadelphia Daily News

Writer Terrence McNally, who adapted the film version of "The Full Monty" for the stage, supposedly said the musical was "about friendship, about being a parent."

In Buffalo:

Quote:
'Full Monty' in Buffalo: Fun, but something's lost in transition

Desmond Ryan, Philadelphia Inquirer

When you want to put on a male strip show like the Chippendales but your physique suggests one of the Budweiser Clydesdales, or falls far short of bronzed studliness in other ways, some naked truths are likely to emerge.

"The Full Monty," the little British film that stole hearts and earned rave reviews, has been successfully translated to a stage musical now on tour at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts.

The Full Monty is not, repeat not (wink, wink) about guys getting naked. <a href=http://www.sun-sentinel.com/entertainment/stage/sfl-th25montyfeb26,0,1136336.story?coll=sfla%2Dentertainment%2Dstage target=_blank>more</a>
