http://www.uaf.edu/theatre/litooma/articles/elemental.html
This link will take you to some notations of Inupiat and Yupik Eskimo dance movements. Do beware the site has this annoying automatic music that starts playing. It's not the drumbeat that bugs, me but the auto part - but I digress...
These "Elemental Forms" as the people at Litooma call them, can help give a small taste of the Inupiat and Yupik sense of place in the world, as well as dance's place in that world.
Litooma is the group who put the site together:
"Litooma an international performance collective with members dedicated to the development of community based theatre. Over the last six years Litooma has established itself as an innovative resource for community based performance projects working in a wide variety of indigenous, intercultural, and Western community settings."
Be patient, and I'll be able to tell you where in the w-w-world to find the stuff about Inupiat whaling dancing!
