Havana Night Show gets a lift from strong cast

The journey on Tuesday still followed the basic timeline of Latin music's development, but it opened this time with a mythical take of the origin of rhythm: An African drum literally dropped from the ceiling, like a gift from the gods, in a primitively styled number that had the costuming and tribal flavor of Julie Taymor's Broadway version of The Lion King.
The difference was that Havana Night Show did magnificence on a budget, using imagery on large video panels at the back of the stage to create visual ambience.
