Barefoot Brigade troupes follow different drummers
By MARGARET PUTNAM / Special Contributor to The Dallas Morning News

Low-budget modern dance seldom has the luxury of live music. When it does – as provided by Contemporary Dance/Fort Worth – it lights up the room. Because of that, the opening work of Friday night's Barefoot Brigade program at the Bath House Cultural Center, Some American Songs: Whitman, Guthrie, Dylan, was a hard act to follow.
Choreographed by Kerry Kreiman and the dancers, it was a solemn, brooding work. Groups of dancers, two or three or four, broke apart randomly, scattering themselves across space as though impelled by the music of Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie and the poetry of Walt Whitman.
click for more
