I am keen to do an MA in dance next year. I am interested in choreography, aesthetics and the Limon technique. I have read loads of prospectuses but would be interested to hear from anyone who can recommend a course they have done or are doing in the States or in England.
Kind regards
Mairead

gosh, mairead, you'll be pushing your luck to find anywhere at that level that does limon seriously...regrettably...
i believe middlesex polytechnic used to offer limon classes, but they're hardly MA material, are they?
how about university of surrey?
when trina comes back from her holiday in the caribbean (!) lucky her! - SHE may be able to help, as she went to juilliard and has some good 'limon' contacts - that would be week after next... I think that there is an MFA in America at University California Irvine which have strong Limon.
Laban Centre have Limon teachers and an MA programme.

Try to contact San Jose State in California-Gary Masters, a long-time Limon company member teaches there, I believe. I'm not sure they give an MFA though...hmmm, where else? There's lots of places I can think of that offer BFA's with this emphasis in the US, not that many masters programs. Also try Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. They have some great Limon teachers there...you might be able to some "self-directed" MA's at some of these places..

Image
Rudolf Laban
In case Mairead is still looking in or for others who are interested here is the website of the Laban Centre for those who would like to know a bit more
about them.
I recently did a 2 week dance writing and research ‘taster’ course and I
was impressed with the atmosphere. I understand that the dance classes have a very
good reputation.
http://www.laban.co.uk/about/mission.php3
