Nichols. The piece, inspired by the different tales found in folk songs from various northern countries, will feature some of the finest dancers of the Bay Area: Suzanne Gallo, Erika Johnson(from Diablo Ballet), Brian Fisher, Brandon Freeman and Felipe Sacon (from ODC), Frank Shawl and 10 dancers from Berkeley Ballet Theater.
Since her arrival in the Bay Area in 1996, Ms. Delwaide's work has been presented and/or co-produced every year by various presenters: Bay Area Dance Series, ODC Theater and Summerfest. Her presence in the dance community is deeply felt as a choreographer, a teacher and a performer. Sima Belmar from the San Francisco Bay Guardian wrote:"Delwaide is a wizard, turning dancers into superstars" and Rita Felciano in the Danse Magazine said: "Delwaide's recent move from her native Québec is good news for the San Francisco Bay Area". There is excitement and curiosity around her work and "Déjà Entendu" will be the first time that Ms. Delwaide presents a full-length piece in the Bay Area.

-------------
Spinning Yarns/Performancelab
Woven Tales and Branching Thoughts

When: Friday and Saturday, May 19,20; 8pm
Where: Dance Mission Theater 3316 24th Street, SF, CA
Admission: TBA
Reservations: 415.826.4401

Performancelab’s Jennifer Gwirtz and John Baumann and Spinning Yarn’s Co-Director Susan Donham will each develop works for Woven Tales and
Branching Thoughts, creating an evening that will include dances, physical theater pieces, and stories. The works will explore themes of personal politics, intimate relationships, and the organic cartography of the human imagination.
Right Brain Performancelab emerged from the collaborative work of John Baumann and Jennifer Gwirtz in 1999. It is a blend of mime, vaudeville,
contemporary dance, music, puppetry and the occasional stray narrative. Their work explores the balletic inspirations of animate and inanimate
bodies in imaginary landscapes, using action and reaction to play chutes and ladders with story, song and concept.
Spinning Yarns Dance Collective’s choreographers create dances that portray a sense of history, an individual’s ongoing development in time,
and parallels between people and nature. In the evening Woven Tales and Branching Thoughts, Co-Director Susan Donham will continue to weave
dances out of family history and personal experience in order to develop works that explore familial ties and individual strengths.

-------------

Sara Shelton Mann
The Monk
The Feast of the Soul
The Beloved

a Performance Dialogue

When: Thursday - Sunday May 25 - 28; 8pm
Where: Dance Mission Theater 3316 24th Street, SF, CA
Admission: $15
Reservations: 415.826.4401
A State of Aliveness: Dance, Rachael Kaplan, Mimm, Film, Austin Forbord, Music, Norman Rutherford, Art, Roberto Sinfuentez, Somei Yoshino Taiko Ensemble: Director: Bruce Mui Ghent, Members: Ellen Bepp, Jimmy Nakagawa, Kallan Nishimoto, performance, Sara Shelton Mann Workshop Participants

Drumming/Dance/Film/Multimedia/Text/Image/Contact Improvisation/Singing/Chanting/Breathing

This is a site specific performance extravaganza topping off an 8 week Sara Shelton Mann in residence at Dance Mission Theater workshop.
If you want to participate in this workshop/performance call 415.826.4401.

-----
Joey Williams
Production Manager - Dance Mission Theater
510.547.8631 ph 510.435.7084
