Can any of our friends in Australia tell us about a modern choreographer named Natalie Weir? I read an aricle about her in the NY Times; she premiered a piece with American Ballet Theater called "Jabula". It was quite a hit!! What can you tell us about her? She is totally a new name to me!!

The New York Times referred to her,I believe,as a "modern" choreographer comfortable in ballet, or some such thing. Maybe I need to go back and read the review.

I saw Natalie Weir's Sydney premiere of "Mirror Mirror" recently and was not inspired. I had seen a few of her works before and was deeply impressed by them. Mirror Mirror, based on Snow White, was her first attempt at a full length work so I think, given time, she'll improve.
