Beasts

QUALITY contemporary dance targeted at audiences of all ages is hard to come by. Sadler’s Wells hit a bull’s-eye last weekend with Beasts, by the 12-strong Dutch Introdans Ensemble for Youth.
The hour-long show comprised five pieces pegged to interpretations of animal movement and behaviour. Nacho Duato’s 1985 opener, Uccelli (Birds), was cued to Respighi’s orchestral melodies.

Netherlands dance company to visit SA

Netherlands contemporary dance company Introdans will premiere its new show "Left with Ashes", choreographed by local dancer Sbonakaliso Ndaba, when it visits South Africa in July.

Described as "provocative, innovative, contemporary and accessible" the company, based in Arnheim, is known for presenting shows for both children and adults and has graced stages ranging from Sadlers Wells in London to the Bolshoi theatre in Moscow.
