I am writing an essay on the development and influence of American post-modern dance on the UK during the period 1978-1995.
It's going well and almost done except I am stuck as I cannot find out when 'Fever Swamp' was first performed in the UK. I know it was made by Bill T Jones and Arnie Zane in 1983 but that is all the sites keep giving me.
I will be sooooo grateful if anyone knows! :D

That could be tricky info to get. Have you tried the Dance Umbrella 25 year anniversary book? I'm assuming that they came to the UK with DU during that period.

I've checked the DU book by Bonnie Rowell- covering the first 21 years but they aren't mentioned. they may have been in the UK just not in the DU. have handed in the essay now but would still be keen to know!

The most likely people to have such a record will be the Bill T Jones/Arnie Zane Company. They may have a Archivist, but these people tend to be very busy and can be unresponsive.

Which course are you taking, tiggergeek?

Writing a dance essay is essentially a method by which you convert motion into text. There are some ways to approach this challenge. Some publications like dance essay that are very objective: they explain what was performed in correct detail and make a judgment based on usually agreed upon standards. Some publications like individual reviews: you still require to accurately describing what you see, but you are also estimated to spend the review with your exclusive viewpoint.
