Admission: $8. The piece will also be performed Tuesday, May 23, 8:00 p.m. as Footloose presents at Venue 9, 252 9th Street in San Francisco the Women's Work Series. Admission: $6-10. Information: For specific information about Shipp & Company’s performances, call Kim Shipp at (408) 985-6576. <BR> Among the work of other area choreographers, Kim Shipp will premiere “STONES”, a 12-minute excerpt from their "STICKS & STONES" modern dance work exploring the timeless use and imagery of simple tools. Dancers work with 20 large stones to original music by Los Angeles composer, Ed Niecikowski. <BR> Founded in Los Angeles in 1998, Shipp & Company Dance Theatre is a modern dance company dedicated to bringing dance back into the everyday lives of the public through Dance Installations and Interactive Performances including their Children's Interactive Performance Series. They just moved to the Bay Area from Los Angeles last fall. In their 1 1/2 year history, they have been supported/presented by the Pasadena Arts Council, Hollywood Arts Council, California Choreographers Dance Festival, Los Angeles Children's Museum, Kidspace Museum, Pasadena Symphony, Borders Bookstores, and have been recently invited to join the Young Audiences of San Jose and Silicon Valley's roaster of performing artists. Ms. Shipp has a Masters of Fine Arts from California Institute of the Arts, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Utah and is certified as a Laban Movement Analyst. Dancers should want to be part of this up-and-coming company, have skill in movement, improvisation, and a sense of humor. Since we are new to the area, we will also be gathering names of other available dancers & artists to call on for future projects!! <BR>
