Well, she's done it again! Monk continues to amaze me year after year..she's always pushing in such different directions! Monk is such an inspiration especially in regard to the shift of ideas, the ever evolving push that allows an artist to move forward and take steps toward the unfamiliar and unexplored. She constantly serves as reminder to us all that we must not be afraid of change...which is, quite possibly, the hardest thing for any of us to accept (either in life or art or both..).

I would avoid the cliché of saying that Ms. Monk and Ms. Hamilton "push the envelope" in their work, except that "Mercy" showed such pushing, as the artists poked and prodded at the conventional limits of what their respective arts are generally supposed to be.
