This is the weekly round-up by Jann Parry in the UK Sunday newspaper, 'The Observer'. she reviews 'Salt' by La La La Human Steps and new works by Yolande Snaith and Akram Khan.
All the London critics have said the same thing about 'Salt' - great for 20-30 minutes and then increasingly boring.
Yolande Snaith much impressed Stanley Kubrick and others with her dramatic sense and imagination, but some have doubts about the dance content of her work.
I have mentioned Akram Khan elsewhere on the Board. He is a Kathak dancer who enjoys incorporating modern dance elements into his choreography. Ms Parry is blown away by his dancing and this new work 'Fix' (still a work in progress), which I will see in its finished form in about a month. Lucky me!
www.newsunlimited.co.uk/observer/review/story/0,3879,145735,00.html

[This message has been edited by Stuart Sweeney (edited 03-12-2000).]
