There are choreographers who are bad, or boring, for obvious reasons. And then there are choreographers like Liss Fain.
Her Liss Fain Dance Company's annual home season at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts' Novellus Theater, repeating tonight, is a class act. Lovely dancers, mostly elegant costumes. Beautiful lighting by Matthew Antaky. And more important than the trappings, of course, the movement: a distinctively elegant brand of contemporary ballet that is sculpted, rich in detail and fluent in suggestive gestures.
