British Dance Edition 2012
Over the past few years, British Dance Edition (better known as BDE) has developed into a major showcase for UK dance, particularly contemporary dance and dance theatre.
Held biannually, BDE 2012 will take place in London, from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 February, the first time the event will have been held in the capital.
The event is being produced by a a consortium of eight of London’s leading dance organisations: The Place, Sadler’s Wells, Southbank Centre, ROH2, East London Dance, Greenwich Dance, Laban and Dance Umbrella, and supported by Arts Council England and the British Council.
BDE 2012 will present the work of over 20 leading British companies in a range of venues and site-specific locations across London. Besides the public events and performances of small, mid and large scale works, there will be events for delegates and many opportunities for networking and discussion. It's planned that the programming will be themed to make it easy for delegates to follow particular areas of interest.
The programme for BDE 2012 should be announced in July 2011, with delegate registration opening in September 2011.
