On the Boards Presents:
Christian Rizzo (France – Dance/Performance Art)
May 18 - 20
OtB Merrill Mainstage Theater
8pm, $22 General/ $18 Students (as available)
Don’t miss the first (and only) US appearance of the controversial French body artist
Christian Rizzo in a haunting performance that etches itself into the mind’s eye well after the show has ended. From the highly conceptual and theoretical world that is the current dance scene in Europe, comes Christian Rizzo’s
i might as well want the blue of the sky and ride away on a donkey. Part performance art, part dance theater work, Rizzo summons his roots as the lead singer of a rock group and his work in fashion to create a visual and aural feast for the senses featuring a live house mix by
Gerome Nox and lights by
Caty Olive. Rizzo uses club culture, fashion, a live audio mix, an animal skin and a bloody macabre puppet to create a mind-blowing solo that climaxes with Vaseline, green glitter and French rap.
P.S. This isn’t your typical dance show.
Don’t miss this…
