Hi, maybe you can help me... A few weeks ago here in Belgrade I saw very interesting & provocative work ‘Christiane Muller zieht um’ by Two Fish (Berlin). As I've been told it belongs to think dance. Reading some net-essayes I founded important postulates of this course, but nothing about founders, names, companies, works... Really, I am still not sure about this kind of dance. Or kind of performance? What’s that exactly?

Could it be Jill Sigman's company, Thinkdance?

Well, I’d never seen company Jill S. (but found on net) so I can’t compare it with the work from Berlin, but there must be some connection:

1 ‘body as a medium to make people think, question, interpret’ (J. Sigman)
2 movement that stimulates emotion and reflection at audience
3 theatrical settlement

Maybe it’s not enough to define think dance in theory, but it’s not enough for its identification, too. Therefore, I need much more names (dancers, companies), as the way to see think dance closely (if they are not some secret club  )

I haven't come across the term "thinkdance", but I guess that it would cover a similar ground to conceptual dance, where ideas usually have priority over technique. Indeed some of the leading exponents of the form have no dance training.

Conceptual dance can be seen as a post-Judson Church form.

You can contact Two Fish and ask them:
http://www.goethe.de/kue/tut/adr/tan/en ... ink_ID=162

There is also a video clip there.
If you get a response, please let us know, it might be interesting to hear more about the Berlin dance scene in English.

good luck
