In dancer Aleta Hayes' performance class at Eastside College Preparatory School, nothing stays the same for long.

A dance that started out as a solo ends up a quartet. An actress changes her monologue to add more sass. A poet writes more lines for a spoken-word performance. Students call out suggestions for each other's routines, making each one more challenging and complex.

Welcome to the Remix Project, a constantly evolving dance and theater show that has a dozen East Palo Alto students choreographing dances, writing skits, and performing raps and spoken-word pieces about violence, friendship and the future.
