Choreographer Shelley Lasica has presented other incarnations of this concept, including History Situation and Solos Project, at various galleries and studios throughout Melbourne.

Play in a Room features a large group of dancers in semi-casual costumes. The rehearsal atmosphere remains as the group gradually enter the space and begin private conversations with people in the audience, yet once the dance begins, there is little eye-contact made. We sit in close proximity to the performers, but are not included in their performance.
