Ascendance's repertoire includes 3 captivating and enjoyable dance pieces; the fun and games of "Shenanigans behind the bookshelf", with it's amusing storyline and characters (originally created in a bookstore); the art inspired piece "Snap Back" (created at Leeds City Art Gallery) and "Soleil", a classical piece which shows off the technical prowess of 3 athletic dancers charged with a physical emotion.

10 short dances - A research and development project, choreographed by Emma Clayton, incorporating projected imagery from students from Batley School of Art & Design, Leeds School of Art & Design and community artists.

The performance will also feature a special exhibition of photography and drawing by students at Batley School of Art & Design, Leeds School of Art and community artists who have become involved in the documentation process at Leeds City Art Gallery over the past two months.

The Chaps Tour

Ascendance started out in book shops and art galleries, creating a new audience and a firm following. Now established as Ascendance Rep and a popular draw in theatres, the company is appearing at major art galleries.

The Chaps Tour has two new works from male choreographers - Tom Roden’s The Up and Down People and Gary Clarke’s Social Disease. They make an absorbing programme.
