Jonathan Chmelensky has been promoted to soloist! Congratulations!!

I do hope this isn't the only promotion for the year. Funds may well be limited, but Ida Praetorius certainly is deserving of a step up, as are Jon Axel Fransson and Andrea Kaas (winning the Erik Bruhn prize is a huge achievement!). Plus there are dancers like Christ Rickert who have danced many solo roles, but never seem to get promoted.

I do note that Tina Højlund is now 40, so this would be her last season. And Fernando Mora and Dian Cuni will be at retirement age within a year or two. So perhaps more promotions will follow as dancers move on to teaching and other pursuits.
