Joie de vivre à la Bournonville
With his eye for colour and adventure, Bournonville in these delightful 19th century ballets leads us to Spain and Belgium. La Ventana is the elegant, voluptuous tale of a southern love-affair, while The Kermesse in Bruges is full of magic, heroism, and frivolity.
On the occasion of The 3rd Bournonville Festival celebrating the bicentenary of the birth of the illustrious choreographer, both ballets have been given a fresh approach by Principal Dancer Lloyd Riggins and Artistic Director Frank Andersen. Sets and costumes have been designed by two newcomers to the ballet, Christian Friedländer and Rikke Juellund.
