The four Nordic ballet companies have joined forces to create historic new choreography in 2005

Ballet and dance are developing fast in the North. The stages are charged with challenge and experiment, the choreographers are brimming with artistic talent, and the companies have dancers of international class. We have placed the four National companies at the disposal of 16 Nordic choreographers with a view to drawing international attention to the Northern countries as a creative powerhouse, producing new exciting choreography for the world of ballet.

In Denmark, four chosen choreographers will present modern works on the theme of The Four Elements. Earth, Air, Fire and Water will thus be rendered in stage and light design, and in choreography.

Nordic Choreographers is a formalised venture involving the Finnish National Ballet, the Royal Swedish Ballet, the Norwegian National Ballet, and the Royal Danish Ballet.
