Nevada Ballet Theatre opens the 2010-11 season with a program featuring works by companies whose artistic directors are former Joffrey Ballet dancers. NBT artistic director James Canfeld presents "Degas Impressions" performed by NBT. Ballet West's artistic director Adam Sklute has chosen to present Jiri Kylian's "Sinfonietta;" Aspen Santa Fe Ballet will perform Jorma Elo's "Red Sweet;" and Hubbard Street Dance will perform Nacho Duato's "Gnawa." Performances are scheduled October 15-17, 2010 at the Artemus Ham Concert Hall at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. Kristen Peterson previews the program in the Las Vegas Weekly.

Nevada Ballet Theatre presents "The Tried and True and the New," Friday through Sunday, March 4-6, 2011 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The program includes Balanchine's "Donizetti Variations," excerpts from Alvin Ailey's "Revelations" and Lar Lubovitch's "Concerto 622," and works by artistic director James Canfield and Pennsylvania Ballet resident choreographer Matthew Neenan. Steve Bornfeld previews the program in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
