It sounds like an interesting piece. Looking forward to hearing more about Maximum Dance through the Season.

Jordan Levin liked it too, for the most part:

quote:
Maximum gets season off to a physical start
JORDAN LEVIN, Miami Herald
Maximum Dance Company opened its 2001-2002 season Saturday night at Fort Lauderdale's Bailey Concert Hall, marking the troupe's considerable organizational growth -- for their fifth season, they'll dance in Broward as well as in Miami-Dade County.

More

Mikael is going strong here and is fast becoming a fan fav. Prior to my wife, Lara Murphy, leaving the company a couple of weeks ago, Mikael and her danced KT Nelson's Below the Rim in Stuttgart and werevery warmly received.
I've been trying to get him off his butt to participate in CD, but he says that he's around dance enough right now. He's doing great and I am sure would welcome new members to his fan club at the next Maximum performance.

Mikhael and I danced at the same little studio when we were kids. Funny how time flies and brings us all a different path...

A wonderful review. Wow! Maximum Dance is definitely a company worth making the effort to see live, I saw them last year when I was on a fishing trip in Florida. For any of you that are unable to get down to south Florida to see them or anywhere else they perform check out their web page listing on www.elitedance.com
there are a few video clips available to download of the company.

And here's a review of the Spring program:

quote:
Troupe is spirited, choreography isn't
JORDAN LEVIN, Miami Herald
''A program of audience favorites'' was how Dennis Edwards, president of Maximum Dance Company's board, introduced Friday night's show at the Colony Theatre. And with the troupe delaying the scheduled premiere of Lecuona Passion, what it performed before a half-full house was a reasonable display of the company's style and direction.

More
