Ballet Arizona opens the 2008-09 season with a production of Ib Andersen's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" October 31 - November 2 in the Phoenix Symphony Hall. Richard Nilsen previews the performance in the Arizona Republic:

Bad news: the June all-Balanchine program has been dropped from the season as a cost saving measure. A nine percent drop in "Nutcracker" sales provides the motivation. Kerry Lengel reports on the situation with Phoenix arts organizations, including Ballet Arizona, in the Arizona Republic:
