<P>'Swan Lake' by BalletMet Columbus<BR> <BR> <BR>BalletMet Columbus have revived their recent production of 'Swan Lake', choreographed by their AD David Nixon. First, here is a preview interview with Nixon, in which we learn that:<P> <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>As a male lead in a predominantly female ballet, Nixon, quite naturally, liked best the version that offered the most dancing to the Prince. That was in his very first production, with the National Ballet of Canada in Erik Bruhn's choreography.<P>"I was coached personally by Erik Bruhn,'' Nixon said. "It will always remain closest to my heart. I would learn the steps and then go home and come back the next day with ideas. It was a very stimulating process.''<P>Overall, Bruhn's version offered more opportunities for the men to dance than is the tradition.<P>Nixon has retained that goal in his own Swan Lake.
