I would not normally post this, but it just came to my attention that Diablo Ballet is in danger of cancelling its next season if fundraising donations do not reach $500,000 by July 1. This small Walnut Creek company has climbed the ranks of the Bay Area dance scene, competing with both Oakland Ballet and San Francisco Ballet, and come out ahead -- no small feat in a greater metropolitan area that houses one of the most competitive dancing scenes nationwide. I'm not sure if it is appropriate to post this here, but I wanted to draw attention to their struggles in case anyone is willing or able to help.
Tax-deductible donations can be made to the company by clicking on this link that was recently posted on their web site:

http://www.diabloballet.org/membership.html Diablo Ballet must raise $500,000 by July 1, 2007 or we will have to cancel our 2007-2008 season. Also at risk is our Dance Development Educational Outreach Program, which benefits over 5,000 local youth annually. You can help support our efforts by making a tax-deductible contribution today!
