Audiences of all ages will dig youth ballet's 'Mole Music'

Wilma Salisbury, Cleveland Plain Dealer

The tale of an industrious little an imal who lives underground and learns to play the violin is an un likely scenario for a ballet. Yet, David McPhail's children's book, "Mole Music," is so rich in imagery that it inspired the colorful production Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet will premiere tonight at Akron's E.J. Thomas Hall.

Madeline and friends come to life in new story ballet

There's nothing like a circus to bring out a choreographer's inner child. Clowns, jugglers and other colorful characters are made for dancing. Combine the lively parade of performers with the beloved heroine of a children's book series, and you have the ingredients for a delightful story ballet.
