Ballet’s top dancers turn away
Departures could be signs of discord or normal turnover
by TOM STRINI for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Amy Fote and Yumelia Garcia, principal dancers of the Milwaukee Ballet and the company's two most popular and recognizable faces, will not return next season.

Garcia will join Ballet Florida. Fote is mulling offers from the Houston Ballet and the New Zealand Ballet.

Four swans
Split casting gives more dancers a chance to shine in streamlined classic
by TOM STRINI for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Pink decided to split the Odette / Odile roles, and thereby showcase two female dancers at each performance. The good girl (Odette) / bad girl (Odile) teams will be Diana Stetsura / Jennifer Provins and Tatiana Jouravel / Luz San Miguel.

...

Split casting also helps Pink put his stamp on the production. He's condensed "Swan Lake" to two acts from the usual three and otherwise streamlined the show.
