Milwaukee ballerina dancing off to Madrid

Kara Wilkes, the tall, willowy young woman from Greendale who has danced with the Milwaukee Ballet School or Company since 1991, is flying off to Spain.

Wilkes, 24, will join the Victor Ullate Ballet, of Madrid, this week. The company of 20-plus dancers tours often and internationally. It does some standard classics, but the repertoire leans heavily toward Ullate's own work.
