American Ballet Theatre are in Washington with their new production of 'Swan Lake'. The emphasis seems to be on the traditional rather than the radical, which is fine, especially as the Company seems to need a replacement for a production showing signs of age.
I believe that the photo shows Nina Ananiashvili, who is performing in the New York season, but not in Washington. I have not seen her, but looking at this beautiful photo, I can understand why many get very excited about her dancing.
Interesting that the Post has two reviews, showing what an important event the visit of ABT is. These reviews will last for about 2 weeks.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/WPlate/2000-03/25/125l-032500-idx.html
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/WPlate/2000-03/27/086l-032700-idx.html

[This message has been edited by Stuart Sweeney (edited 03-27-2000).]
