PABallet has just announced their next season in The Daily News.
A wonderful opening program of all Jerome Robbin's ballets - a company premiere of "In the Night" along with the hilarious "The Concert" and "Fancy Free". This is the first time they have had an all Robbins evening and it will suite these dancers well I think.
I am excited about the March program which will include "Carmina Burana" and Balanchine's "Serenade". I am supposing that "Carmina" will be the Butler version PAB has danced before. And in April, another great contemporary program with Tharp's "In the Upper Room" (company premiere), Caniparoli's "Lambarena" and Wheeldon's "Continuum".
Along with "Nutcracker", PAB is dancing two other classical ballets. "Giselle" will be danced in February and the season will close in June with "The Sleeping Beauty". I have seen their "Beauty" and it is a gorgeous production.
More Robbins, less Balanchine and some exciting new contemporary ballets .......I will miss the Balanchine but am thrilled about the Robbins.
