JENIFER RINGER PROMOTED TO PRINCIPAL DANCER <BR>On May 5, New York City Ballet announced that Jenifer Ringer has been named its newest Principal Dancer. Miss Ringer joined NYCB as an apprentice in October 1989 and joined the corps de ballet in January 1990. She attained the rank of Soloist in January 1995. Miss Ringer took a leave of absence from NYCB from July 1997-November 1998. She began her dance training at age 10 and, after attending two summer sessions at the School of American Ballet, became a full scholarship student at SAB in the 1988-89 school term. On May 12, Miss Ringer will make her debut as "Aurora" in The Sleeping Beauty (Tschaikovsky/Martins after Petipa).
