In "Creation," which had its U.S. premiere Tuesday night at the Joyce Theater, the origins and development of mankind parallel those of dance, in loose and highly stylized fashion. In one section, for example, Malandain re-creates Loie Fuller's late 19th-century work, "Serpentine Dance," using the solo to lure Adam and Eve to that tricky apple (here a large, transparent globe of plastic).
