McCauley's Boundless Style
By Lisa Traiger for The Washington Post

THE SQUARISH studio of Maryland Youth Ballet, with its wall of mirrors and barres hugging three sides, can barely contain Lucy Bowen McCauley's dancers as they course through a rehearsal of the Arlington-based choreographer's latest dance offering, a new work set to a lush Bach cantata. They're up, they're down, they're in arabesque, they're on their knees, they're leaping, they're falling.
McCauley is in her element encouraging and correcting, dissecting the counts of a complex passage for one dancer, advising another on a series of lightning-quick steps that will bring her body to the floor.
click for more
