Bolshoi Ballet is coming to the United States later this year. Does anyone know their casting information? I search for it on the web but have no luck.

Thanks.

No casting news yet? The Boston dates are only a month out!

Unfortunately, the casting is almost as elusive as a comprehensive list of tour dates and locations... However, I believe someone will be posting all that info in the near future.

From Christine Temin in the Boston Globe: The Bolshoi Ballet makes the leap back to Boston
Quote:
....
The Bolshoi is as famous for coups as Russia itself is, and in January of this year, Alexei Ratmansky, a 35-year-old dancer and choreographer, became the new director of the renowned company.

While Ratmansky is something of an unknown quantity, the ballets he’s bringing to Boston are not. They are two of the greatest masterpieces of the 19th century: “Raymonda” and “Don Quixote.”
(The article notes: still no information on casting.)

Tour details for the Bolshoi in the US 2004

Marc Haegeman's delightful website "For ballet lovers only" (actually, I'd like everyone to look at it) has full details of the forthcoming US tour.

Thank you, Nysusan, for providing the casting information. It's great. I will book the shows performed by Maria Alexandova and Nadya Gracheva.

By the way, do you have the web address where you found the casting? I'd like to take a look at that site.

In The Christian Science Monitor, Margaret Willis interviews current AD Alexei Ratmansky on the Bolshoi's new version of Romeo and Juliet, poised to embark upon a monthlong North American tour:

From Suzanne Sataline in the Boston Globe: Under new management, Bolshoi Ballet is reborn
Quote:
....
. Alexei Ratmansky, 35, is a Russian who had danced and staged ballets in Russia, Canada, and Denmark and has already brought new ideas and forms to the creaky Bolshoi stage. When he begins a North American tour in Boston this week, he will escort a fresh crop of dancers who, even Russian critics say, are dazzling with promise.

Nadezda Gracheva will replace Stepanenko in "Raymonda" on 6 October in Boston.

Review from opening night in Boston. Theodore Bale in the Boston Herald: Look out, the Russians are bombing at the Wang
Quote:
Watching the Bolshoi Ballet and Orchestra perform “Raymonda” last night at the Wang Theatre was like drinking an expensive wine with some people you don’t know very well, but you’re hoping to impress. They exclaim how superior it tastes and you nod in agreement, even though you’re really thinking to yourself, “but not that much better than the $20 bottle I had just last week.”
And from Christine Temin the in Boston Globe: Bolshoi’s ‘Raymonda’ is well worth the time
Quote:
....The Bolshoi “Raymonda” goes on for three hours, and makes you understand why Balanchine and others took the best bits of the music and created tight works with names like “Raymonda Variations.” The Bolshoi version isn’t attuned to a 21st century pace; to get anything out of it you have to slow yourself down, as if you were spending an afternoon looking at passing clouds.
