I've only seen it once on video, but I enjoyed it a lot. They don't take the plot very seriously and there is a lot of banter from the cast and Kevin McKenzie trying to remember the tortuous plot (and frequently failing) in the pre-performance discussion and the intervals. This didn't please everyone, but I don't really see how you can take the plot of 'The Corsaire' seriously.
