I haven't seen this production myself but am hoping to next week.
But what I really want to know is, in spite of being a long-time Bay Area resident, why she hadn't worked with SFB before now... Curious minds want to know.

A couple of reviews of SFBs 'La Bayadere', including a very positive review of Feijoo and Boada in one and tribute to the corps de ballet in the other.

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2000/03/13/DD92876.D TL

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2000/03/11/DD100962 .DTL
[This message has been edited by Stuart Sweeney (edited 03-13-2000).]

Excellent, excellent performance! I was stunned. I thought it would take the SFB corps a couple of seasons to pull it off but Makarova has done an excellent job. The 24 corps dancers were nearly synchronously precise. Also I have never seen such round articulations from this corps before! Nicole Starbuck and soloist Vanessa Zahorian were incredible as the Number One and Two corps dancers.
