Hi all,
I was just flipping through the San Francisco International Film Festival's brochure and read that the Fest will screen "Don Quixote," "directed," as they bill it (not "choreographed" or "staged by") Rudolf Nureyev at the end of April. I have never seen this film of the ballet, but am thrilled at the chance to view it on a wide screen, and wondered if some of you out there who are familiar with it would tell me more about it? The casting for Kitri and Basil wasn't mentioned in the short brochure description.

Whoa, Belinda, thanks for bringing that one to my attention! Now, how to fit it into my schedule?
Have not seen this film and am looking forward to be educated.

yes, he not only danced in it but staged, directed, etc., it. the kitri is lucette aldous, and i think(!) the queen of the dryads is marilyn young, but i'd have to look. it should be available commercially, but getting to see it on a large screen should be very nice...
