A chatty piece about news in the SF arts scene, including jobs vacant in the SF Ballet orchestra and Lucia Lacarra's nomination for an award.
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2000/09/13/DD401.DTL

Yes, it looks like SF Ballet is still in search of a maestro. I have to say that, what with the number of guest conductors they cycled through, last season's performance by the orchestra was somewhat erratic. At one point during Romeo and Juliet, I wondered if I was just hearing things until I realized my girlfriend and guests all had puzzled looks on their faces too. Hopefully, they'll settle on a good conductor by the end of the upcoming season.
