Dance Umbrella 2004 Posting Competition

Every two weeks during Dance Umbrella we will be giving a prize for the best posting in the Dance Umbrella 2004 Forum. It may be a well-argued
review, a witty comment, a celebration of an artist, a memory of a previous Dance Umbrella performance or whatever.

Arrangements:

- The winning entries will be published in our "Ballet-Dance Magazine" and the winners will receive their choice of a range of prizes, currently being finalised.

- The four competitions will cover messages posted to the forum in the
periods:

*up till 19 Oct.
*20 Oct. - 2 Nov.
*3rd Nov - 16th Nov.
*and a separate competition for "The Hard Nut" by The Mark Morris Dance Company
Note: The organisers decided to combine the third and fourth competitions.

- No need to fill out an entry form, just post your comments and we'll do
the rest.

- The judgement of the Dance Umbrella team on all matters connected with
the Competition will be final.

- CriticalDance Moderators and Administrators and Dance Umbrella employees are not eligable for the Competition.

We are delighted to announce that Dance Europe Magazine is supporting the Dance Umbrella 2004 Posting Competition by donating subscriptions for the winners of the four rounds. If you don't know Dance Europe, do visit their website to find out more and to get subscription details.

Donald Hutera has completed the judging for the first two rounds of the Dance Umbrella Posting competition. And the winners are:

Round 1

Winner: Elizabeth Schwyzer for her review of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company at The Barbican
Prizes: 1-year's subsciption to Dance Europe plus a pair of tickets to "The Hard Nut" with the Mark Morris Dance Group at Sadler's wells.

Round 2

Winner: Julia Skene-Wenzel for her review of "Tempus Fugit" at The Queen Elizabeth Hall
Prizes: 1-year's subscription to Dance Europe plus a copy of the dance photos book, "Dance 2wice" published by Phaidon Press

Just a reminder that Round 3 runs until 16th November and Round 4 covers "The Hard Nut" at Sadler's Wells. In addition, Dance Umbrella will be awarding a prize for the overall winner.

Winner: Ana Abad-Carles for her review of the Mark Morris Dance Group in "the Hard Nut" at Sadler's Wells.

Prizes: 1-year's subsciption to Dance Europe plus a set of Dance umbrella photographs
