Sleeping Beauty to Wake Ballet Lovers in Seoul
By Yoon Ja-young for The Korea Times

''Sleeping Beauty,'' one of Tchaikovsky's most popular ballets along with ''Swan lake'' and ''the Nutcracker,'' is to be performed by the Korea National Ballet at Seoul Arts Center from May 8 to 15.

Invitation to the World of Modern Ballet
By Yoon Ja-young

Ballet is interesting as long as you know something about it. Korea National Ballet’s ``2004 Ballet With Commentary’’ was greatly acclaimed among ballet novices as well as connoisseurs, opening doors to the world of an elegant, refined, yet interesting art genre. The series goes all contemporary in July, showing three pieces accompanied by commentary and explanation by Lee Jong-ho, culture editor at Yonhap News Agency. Lee, advisor of the troupe, is also known as a famous dance critic. The audience will understand how modern ballet is different from classical ballet and discover its attractions.
