Guillem dances three stories of love

Only great choreographers can translate literary works into worthy ballets and only great dancers can integrate the language of ballet into literature. Sylvie Guillem, considered the world's top ballerina both technically and artistically, proves this in Trois Histoires d'Amours.

The program consists of "Winter Dreams," a poetic ballet drama by Kenneth MacMillan inspired by Chekhov's Three Sisters; "Marguerite and Armand," an emotional portrayal of sad love by Frederick Ashton based on Dumas fils' La Dame aux Camelias, and "Carmen," an original re-creation by Alberto Alonso inspired by Merimee's novel and Bizet's opera of the same name.

Guillem, formerly a star at the Paris Opera Ballet and currently a guest principal at the Royal Ballet, appears in the first two pieces along with star dancers from abroad.
