Someone had to do it
by JO ROBERTS for the Age

A word of advice if you're planning on going to see the West Australian Ballet's La Boheme at the Arts Centre from tonight: careful, he might hear you. The company's artistic director, Simon Dow, likes to "hang out" - as he calls it - in theatre lobbies, to hear what people say about his show.

Interesting to read the positive response to Kylian in Australia, which I share. As some of you may noticed this is in sharp contrast to the reviews of Kylian works by the various NDT companies in the UK or of Kylian pieces performed by the Royal Ballet or Rambert. The majority of the UK critics really don't like Kylian; interestingly, those who have recently been dancers tend to be the exceptions.

Out-of-body-tights experience
by JO ROBERTS for the Age

It's the end of a 14-year career, the first three with London's Royal Ballet and the past 11 with the AB. But Trent now has designs on a different stage: a career in musical theatre.

Trent says his career has, in a way, come full circle, with musical theatre being his first love. And already he has four agents; two in New York, one in London and one in Australia.
